Please Support The Yang Slinger
There are a lot of reasons to back a journalist and his passion and his love of the craft.
I started this Substack newsletter because I love providing insight and education to journalists. It’s my passion. My love. My thing.
But, eh, being a self-employed writer is expensive. Specifically, researching and writing books costs a ton of money. So while I enjoy providing this newsletter for free, just as I enjoy providing my podcast, Two Writers Slinging Yang, every week for free, I’m hardly a rich dude.
Which leads me to this …
If you find value in this Substack, and you enjoy it, I ask that you consider joining the new-and-improved(!!!) paid subscription plan. You certainly don’t have to, and I will always offer the base newsletter for free.
But, if you choose to buy in, I’m offering some cool stuff. Namely …
• A monthly scheduled hour-long zoom chat featuring myself and another writer (to be announced that week). You’ll be able to ask questions, seek advice, etc. It’ll be a conversation about writing, publishing, editing, the Alf puppet and all sorts of things related to the profession.
• A monthly DM chat session where I will answer all questions, read your stuff, talk anything and everything.
• A once-a-month bonus newsletter specifically concerning book/long-form reporting.
• Your name in the acknowledgments of the Tupac book—because you are (quite literally) funding my research, and it’s hugely appreciated.
• A Ferrari.1
So … there you have it. Every cent made from this Substack goes to pay for book research. It’s enormously appreciated.
Big thanks!
PS: I’ll be back with a great new entry next week!
