Bob: A. Thanks for reading and commenting. B. I would never appear on a show that peddles such levels of propaganda, hosted by a Grade A buffoon. C. I don't need your money THAT badly. :)

Seriously, though, thanks for reading and chiming in. Appreciated, even if we disagree.

Are you not curious what Whitlock’s side of the story is regardless of his beliefs and rhetoric? Seems a little contrary to write about the downfall of a person yet too beneath you to reach out for a comment or even a discussion that would be an unicorn type effort in today’s anti-social society on your part. Ditch the safety of a type board and provoke dialogue with someone you once saw as a peer but now as a ballooned Buffoon.

p.s. I was feeling guilty about reading your fascinating pieces for free but since you don’t need the money, I’ll use it for gas!

1. Sent him this DM via Instagram days ago—never heard back: Jason, Jeff Pearlman here. I obviously disagree with pretty much everything you write, but ... this week for my journalism substack (pearlman.substack.com) I'm writing about your career. Wanted to see if you'd be open to chatting? Thanks.

2. Sent him this e-mail (to the correct address, which I verified). Also days ago—never heard back: Jeff Pearlman here—longtime journalist and (in the name of transparency) not the biggest fan of your recent takes.

So ... that being said, I do a weekly journalism Substack (pearlman.substack.com), and for this week's issue I'm focusing on ... you. Specifically, what happened? You were one of the go-to columnists in America. Definitely a guy I read regularly. And, in the past few years, you've basically (in my opinion) transformed into conservative America's favorite I-can't-be-racist-because-the-Black-dude-on-TV-agrees-with-me flamethrower.

And, sincerely, I'd love to chat with you and hear what, perhaps, I'm missing or misunderstanding. I mean, truly, your takes/metamorphosis infuriate me, but ... it's certainly possible I simply don't understand.

So, wanted to see if you'd be game for a talk. If not, no worries.

Thanks.

Jeff

Enjoyable and impressive as always. The phrase "a vomit-soaked gas station urinal cloth" was worth the subscription price alone.

Jeff, I enjoy your stuff. It's always to the point. Even when it's unintentionally hilarious: "According to reporters Widlore Mérancourt and Claire Parker, Haitian police surrounded the prime minister’s house to protest the recent killings of lawn enforcement officers."

Those fucking Haitian lawn enforcement officers are at it again. Ever since the brutal days of Papa Doc and Baby Doc, those Haitian sons of bitches have been both figuratively and literally in bed with each and every one of those Scotts Turf Builder and Miracle Gro rat bastards. Jeff, when will their seedy corruption ever end?

Sorry my bad! I was just about to respond to about my blunder of missing your note that you did reach out but you beat me to it. After I read the piece initially I skipped straight to the comment section. Though after seeing that you have a relationship with the great Shawn green and with the latest cooperstown inductees, do you think players should be inducted solely based on regular season performance since the majority of mlb history only a few teams would actually make the postseason unlike today’s nonsense? For example, schilling was not a regular season hall of famer at all in my opinion but his postseason exploits made him a legend even though many great players never actually got an opportunity to play in the postseason unlike schilling who had many opportunities (ridicules Edgar Martinez/big Papi get in solely on offense ability but andruw Jones doesn’t get in on defensive ability with some offensive numbers to back it up). Thank you for your time and keep up the great work!!!

Used to love Whitlock. Gave up on him a long time ago. Too bad. There’s little that is sadder than talent that gets pissed away.
